Oriental music came into Chundikuli in 1929 and since then has been loved and adopted by the girls. Violin and Carnatic vocal music lessons have been offered by highly trained and proficient teachers over the years. Girls are sent up for local examinations and certification in music. Miss Ponnambalam, Mr Param and Mrs Jegathambikai Anandanayam are some of who built up the curriculum of Oriental Music. Mrs Anandanayagam, a Sangeetha Pooshanam of Annamalai University and a Christian convert, together with her husband, has done numerous music compositons and contributed immensely to the development of Carnatic music at Chundikuli and the Anglican church of Sri Lanka.
Chundikuli has staged many a classical Bharatha Natyam ballet such as Lava Kusha (Ramayana), Sakuntala, Savithri (Mahabharatha) and Rajanarthaki (Anarkali), Kalaikovil kattiya Kavalan (Silappathikaram) are some to name a few.
The tradition of Oriental music continues at Chundikuli to a high standard. Students take part in Singing competitions, group dancing, Easter bajans and Vaani Vizha bringing out the best of talent to this day.
