The Chundikuli Girl in Uniform
History of the school uniform
In 1929, an attempt was made to raise the standard of general appearance in the matter of dress. There was no particular uniform. Girls could wear any colours, except on Prize Day. A special uniform - a white dress, with a round neck, two box pleats in front with pockets, no pleats at the back - was fixed upon, and it did improve the appearance of the girls to a great extent. Then Miss Page ordered ribbons with Red and Black lines, and school ties, and house badges in the different colours. the round neck did not suit the tie, so it was changed the following year into a neck with collar.
